Steph and Me

This month Steph and I will celebrate our 10 year Anniversary on the 16th. I can hardly remember the early years of our relationship. Even remembering the dating years are blurry. I saw her, fell in love, and married her. Pretty simple steps.
We were talking the other day about how we knew we were supposed to be married to each other. It was New Year's Eve 1998 and we were sitting in my pick-up truck overlooking the city of Birmingham, Alabama watching the fireworks go off! Typically you kiss the one you like/love on this night as the clock strikes midnight! Not us. My palms were sweating, I was so nervous, I couldn't say anything. She was the same. I looked at her and said, "Can I pray with You?" She told me her heart melted. We knew that night we would spend the rest of our lives together. She wanted to kiss me and I wanted that too! I ain't no idiot!  But,,,,,,we Prayed!

She had been praying for a long time that she wanted to pray with the person she was to marry...on a New Year's eve. I had no idea. I was at the right place at the right time! God beautifully orchestrated it all from before the world began. I am glad to be part of His plan! Prayer changes everything................

Oh Yeh.    She is still HOT to me!!!!

  3. So I'm interested to know, it sounds like you believe that you two were destined to be together. That God created you for her and her for you. Is that what you believe? Do you believe that there is a specific person that God created for each of us? Just interested in what you think. :-)

  4. YES!!!! I was destined to marry her. However, I can only respond for the story of me and Steph.
Eph. 1:3-14 explains so much of how God has loved us, has a plan for us, calling us "Sons & Daughters" in Him adopting us to be His own for His saving grace and His Glory, and all this before God created anything. If He planned this much for me and Steph I absolutely believe he allowed us to meet when we did, fall in love like we did, and get married when we did. Sin is not only "DOING" things we aren't supposed to do, its also "Not DOING" things we are supposed to do. We both believed in our hearts that if had not married each other, we would have grieved the heart of God and sinned. For everyone else, they will have to pray through these things and find out from God what He wants from them.

  5. Great reply Kevin, I have always believed that God brought Kim and I together and that it was His Will for us to meet and marry, but a lot of people don't believe this way and I was just wondering what you believed, that for replying.
